What is a Chemical Reaction?

What is a Chemical Reaction??
Chemical reaction is a process in which substances are called reactants are to changed to produce a new substance which is also known as products.
Usually accompanied by an exchange of heat, light or both with e surroundings.
Combination,Combustion, Decomposition and Photosynthesis are classified as Chemical Reactions. The reason is these processes produce a new substance.
What is use to describe a chemical reactions.??
A chemical equation is needed to describe a chemical reactions.
* During a chemical reaction, energy is used to break up e molecules of e reactants into an atoms.
* The atoms then rearrange themselves and recombine to form new molecules known as products with a release of energy.
Filtration!!!!!
Is to separate insoluble solids from the liquids. Eg. Sand

Crystallisation
Is to separate dissolved solid particle from a liquid in solid-liquid solutions without heating.
Form of crystals. Eg. Sugar.
Distillation!!
Is used to separate a liquid component with a lowest boiling point from a liquid to liquid mixtures.
Commonly used by perfume . Indensity.
Chromatography!!
To separate and identify the different coloured liquid components.
Suspension!!
A mixture in which the components do not dissolve into the solvent.
* Light decomposes the silver bromide coating on photographic films into silver which produces the dark areas on the films according to the shape of images formed when the films are developed into negatives.
*Combustion
Is a combination of a substance with oxygen when it is heated.
*Decomposition.
A process whereby a substance is split or broken down into 2 or more simpler substances.
Some decompose on heating.
*Electroplating involves coating objects with a new thin layer of metal like Gold, Silver, Chrome or Copper.
The object to be coated is connected to the negative terminal of a battery and e plating metal is  connected to the positive terminal. Both the object and the plating metal are then dipped into an electrolyte.

A New Year... A New Lesson... A New Beginning!!

Hey there people!!!
Hm...
Sorry for not updating...
Been busy for all this while...
Things that we have learnt for all these months is:
Atoms, Compounds, Mixtures
(Chapter 1) :)
What is Atoms??
Atom is a small positively charged nucleus at its centre with negatively charged electrons continually moving around the nucleus.
Has different types and sizes.
The most common shape that can used to represent an Atom will be a circle.
Next......
Elements
What is an Element?
Element is a pure substance that is made up of only 1 kind of atom.
Often known by different names in different languages but has only 1 chemical symbol.
Cannot be split into 1 or more simpler substances by chemical reactions.(Matter)
Compounds
Compound is made up of 2 or more elements chemically combined together.
Formed by chemical reactions.
Has properties that are different from e properties of its constituent elements.
Can ONLY be broken down into simpler substances by chemical methods.
Example: Decomposition.
